Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver/guide and our representative. You’ll then be transferred to the charming Rivertrees Country Inn, located on the banks of the Usa River amidst a serene former German coffee estate. The lodge offers stunning views of Mt. Meru and Mt. Kilimanjaro. Alternatively, you can stay at Lake Duluti Lodge near Lake Duluti. Your adventure begins with a journey to Tarangire, the third-largest national park in northern Tanzania, known for its impressive elephant population and ancient baobab trees. Wildlife concentrates along the Tarangire River, the park’s main water source, where you may encounter lions, leopards, cheetahs, and diverse birdlife.
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Famous for its stunning scenery, this park is home to elephants, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, and more.
Today, you’ll explore the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, often called one of the wonders of the natural world. As the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, it is a sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest wildlife populations, including rare black rhinos. With its 2,000-foot-high walls, the crater offers excellent chances to spot the “Big Five” and other species during a single game drive.
After breakfast, head to Serengeti National Park. Enjoy a picnic lunch atop a kopje (rock outcrop) before continuing into the heart of the Serengeti. Enjoy an afternoon game drive before settling into Mapito Tented Camp in Northern Serengeti.
